- The Nopera golf course is something special. Greens enclosed by electric fences to keep stock away and a free shot if you hit a cowpat. Non-golfers have been known to join in, just for the water-taxi ride and the fantastic views.

- Meet the locals at The Linkwater Country Inn, 3 km away, with restaurant and bar. The Clansman or the award winning Mussel Boys restaurant, specialised in delicious green lip mussel menus are just 20 minutes drive away in Havelock.
